The success of Foxcroft School's plans for the 2020-21 school year requires the entire community’s commitment to reduce individual exposure to infection, and they depend on a strong partnership and trust between the School and families. We acknowledge that we all will have to adapt to keep one another healthy and safe, to take personal and collective responsibility for our compliance with healthy practices, and to place community needs ahead of personal needs.

The principles that have guided our work begin with the health and safety of our students and our employees and the continued excellence of our academic program, as well as equity and inclusion and our strong residential and community culture.

New Procedures

  • Self Quarantine Periods

    Students will self-quarantine for two weeks before returning for periods of on-campus learning

  • Testing & Monitoring

    All Students and employees will get tested for COVID-19 after the two-week quarantine period within three days before arriving on campus and provide proof of negative testing.

  • Face Coverings

    Face coverings will be required in all buildings, as they are likely the most effective defense in containing the spread of infection

  • Cleaning & Sanitation

    Daily cleaning and sanitation protocols have been enhanced across the school, including an electrostatic sprayer for thorough coverage of disinfectant

  • Social Distancing

    Classrooms, dorm rooms, community spaces, the Dining Hall, and lounges will be modified for 6' distancing

  • Hygiene

    Students & employees will continue to be educated on effective hygiene practices, including frequent handwashing and use of hand sanitizer

  • Community Events

    Modifications will be made to the size, location of, and attendance at community events, with some being held virtually

  • Foodservice & Meals

    Modifications will be made to foodservice and the Dining Hall use in cooperation with the state health department

  • Online Learning

    An online learning option will be available for students who have health concerns. All classes will go fully online from November 30 to December 18, and again January 4-15 and March 15-26 during two-week self-quarantine periods

  • New Date for On-Campus Learning

    I appreciate the news about Foxcroft’s decision to delay our on-campus start until October 3 was a disappointment to our students and caused families to have to rearrange their plans. We are also reviewing our initial plans in light of this change. Here is what we are doing:

    We are continuing to monitor positivity rates in our area and are hopeful that with schools and colleges starting around the country, and with families cutting back on travel and getting back to a more routine schedule, we will see a flattening of the curve. Let’s all continue to do our part together.

School Calendar & Opening Days

Arrival on Campus

Families will be invited to book a 30-minute arrival appointment to move your daughter into her dorm.

When families arrive, each person will participate in a health and safety screening that includes temperature checks and physical health questions related to the coronavirus.

We will allow limited access into the residence halls.

Academic Plans

What is Flex Learning at Foxcroft?

Foxcroft’s Flex Learning plan allows for all students to be on campus and attend in-person classes. Students who can not be on campus will join classes over Zoom and be part of the synchronous academic and co-curricular times. We are working this summer to create class sections and schedule classes into rooms to meet social distancing capacity, which will allow all students to be present in the classroom.
