  • Competitors in Foxcroft’s "Be Green" STEM Challenge Tackle Climate Change Mitigation

    Foxcroft team takes third in the high school division.

    Bullis School and Edlin School each claimed the top prize in their respective high school and middle school divisions during Foxcroft’s 12th annual STEM Challenge last Saturday.

    Designed for middle and high school students, the competition saw 109 girls from 14 schools in Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, DC, use their knowledge of science, technology, engineering, and math to take on issues like sea level rise, pollinator habitats, recycling, and more as they participated in challenges revolving around this year’s “Be Green” theme.

  • Foxcroft IEA Team Ends the Season with a Fourth Place Finish at Regional Finals

    The Foxcroft IEA team finished their season with a fourth-place finish at Regional Finals at Meadowbrook Stables last Saturday, February 18. With only a 5-point spread between the first through fourth place teams, the competition was a nail-biter until the very last team class of the day. A special shout-out goes to Captain Meredith K. ’23 for her first-place finish in the Team Beginner Walk, Trot, Canter class. Captain Lexi H. ’23, Anneliese C. ’26, and Claire M. ’24 also rode in style, and each earned a second-place finish for the team, keeping Foxcroft in the game throughout the day.

    You're Invited: Renowned Oceanographer Dr. Sylvia Earle to Speak at Foxcroft

    Dr. Sylvia Earle, a legendary oceanographer and ocean advocate who holds the record for the deepest walk on the sea floor, has been named the 2023 Alison Harrison Goodyear ’29 Fellow. Dr. Earle will speak to the community about her life experiences and advocacy on Thursday, March 23, at 7pm in the Engelhard Gymnasium of the Athletic/Student Center at Foxcroft.
