“The thing I love most about Foxcroft is being able to meet people from around the world and being able to have that special bond with someone.”
Our International Program
Our international program offers a terrific college preparatory education along with unforgettable life experiences. Our boarding school for girls in Virginia welcomes students from more than a dozen countries each year and instantly includes them as part of our friendly and diverse community. Each new international student is paired with an International Ambassador student mentor before she arrives, to help her adjust and find her lifelong friends. Students have fun weekend activities designed just for them, including regular trips to the international market to shop for foods that remind them of home. Our international students take full advantage of opportunities for service and leadership, participating as club heads, class officers, interns, or volunteers for local organizations.
Academically, our program is appropriate for students from an advanced level of English proficiency to those who are bilingual. Special English and history classes help those who need to improve their academic language skills. Our full-time Director of International Student Services supports girls in many aspects of their lives and when the time comes, our international students all do well in college acceptances and find that they are well prepared for college.
Rebecca joined the Foxcroft faculty as the Director of International Student Services in 2016. She holds both bachelor’s and master’s degress in English language and literature from the University of Maryland, where she also minored in Spanish.
Rebecca’s experience teaching English Language learners began at CASA de Maryland. For five years, she was an academic director of ELS Language Centers and oversaw academic programming for university-bound ESL students. Just prior to coming to Foxcroft, she worked at Montgomery College, offering college and career counseling to English language learners.
At Foxcroft, Rebecca teaches Advanced Academic English, The American Experience, U.S. History, and occasional English electives. She also conducts orientation and other programs for international students and works with the student International Ambassadors. Rebecca is a dorm parent in Dillon, where she lives with her dog.
An all-girls boarding and day school in Northern Virginia, Foxcroft prepares young women in grades 9-12 for success in college and in life. Our outstanding academic program offers challenging courses, including Advanced Placement classes and an innovative STEM program. Our premiere equestrian program is nationally recognized, and our athletic teams have won conference and state championships. Experience the best in girls' boarding schools: visit Foxcroft.
