Riding Overview

Inclusive and Competitive
Foxcroft’s Riding program is tailored to meet each girl's needs, whether you are a first-time rider or an experienced horsewoman. If you want to compete regularly at rated shows, want to ride for pleasure, or fall somewhere in between, there is a place for you in our program at this top school for girls in the Southeast. Whether in a lesson at home or in the show ring at a premier-level competition, we take pride in the special place that riding has always held here and the incredible accomplishments of our riders.

— Valeska F. ’26

“I would've never imagined that I'd grow my riding abilities to the extent that I have at Foxcroft and with the help of my amazing trainers.”

— Madison B. ’24

“I’ve had many ups and downs with my growth in riding. I’ve built up my confidence in the saddle just to have a voice in my head tell me that I can’t do it. However, there’s always a louder voice telling me that I can, and that’s my instructor. When you’re telling yourself 'I can’t,' they’ll make sure you know that you can.”

— Chiara D. ’25

“I’ll always cherish the opportunities that the riding program has given me, whether that’s having my horse with me on campus or competing out of state.”

Since 1914

Horsemanship and the responsibility that goes with it have been an integral part of the Foxcroft experience since the all girls prep school opened in 1914. From our School's founder (and first riding teacher) Charlotte Haxall Noland, to current Director of Riding, Kate Worsham, Foxcroft's riding instructors promote the philosophy that the sport helps develop character and the ability to make good decisions.

Competitive Highlights

Riders at all levels of Foxcroft's riding program grow in skill, knowledge, horsemanship, and character — and each is celebrated along the way. The many opportunities for competition and impressive success among many of our riders set the prep school apart and attracts motivated riders from across the country and the globe. Please take a look at some of our recent highlights.
