Foxcroft's Flex Learning Plan

Foxcroft’s Flex Learning plan allows for all students to be on campus and attend in-person classes. Students who can not be on campus will join classes over Zoom and be part of the synchronous academic and co-curricular times. We are working this summer to create class sections and schedule classes into rooms to meet social distancing capacity, which will allow all students to be present in the classroom.
Notes about the Academic Daily Schedule
  • Classes and Co-Curricular time starting at the same time each day will ensure consistency.
    • We will follow the same schedule each week.
    • We will follow the same schedule during periods of on-campus or distance learning.
  • Longer periods of passing time will ensure that movement throughout the building and classrooms preserves social distancing.
  • There are Open Tutorial times each day for additional help.
  • While the eight period schedule allows us to schedule our larger classrooms for social distancing capacity, six classes remains Foxcroft’s maximum course load.
  • Wednesday will be our Co-Curricular day.
    • This gives dedicated time to student life programming, class and dorm meetings, Wellness programming, leadership and grade level programming, speakers, club time, as well as time for faculty meetings and tutorial periods.
  • We will have Athletics and Riding each day. Details about these will follow.
  • Each class will have two meeting times per week.
    • During periods of on-campus learning, the extension period after each morning class will become part of the instructional time.
    • During periods of distance learning, this will be optional/tutorial time to help address Zoom fatigue.
  • Foxcroft teachers are working hard this summer on their classes for next year, taking the lessons from this spring, what we know about how girls learn best, and our schedule for next year into consideration in their planning.
    • Synchronous class time together will focus on collaborative classroom learning.
    • Outside of class, students will focus on assignments that enhance lessons from their synchronous class time and are more robust than typical homework assignments.
    • Teachers will use a standard Weekly Assignment Guide and resources on myFoxcroft to make things consistent across all classes.
      • We will do a (re)orientation for students and parents to myFoxcroft later in the summer.
