Winners of Science Photography Contest Capture Stunning Shots

Throughout the school year, we see many great example of cross-disciplinary work on display in the halls of Schoolhouse. Earlier this week, Julie Fisher of the Fine Arts Department and Meghen Tuttle of the Science Department highlighted the beautiful results of collaboration between two academic areas — fine arts and science — when they announced the winners of this year’s Science Photography Contest.
The Science Photography Contest was a new opportunity for Foxcroft photographers, including both students and faculty, to showcase their talents this year. Submissions to each of the seven categories in the contest were on display during the inaugural Arts Weekend at the end of April, when everyone had the opportunity to vote for their favorites. After tallying all the ballots, Mrs. Fisher and Dr. Tuttle were ready to announce the winners!

Congratulations to the following photographers for their beautiful photographs. The winners by category are:
  • Grace C. ’19 (Patterns in Nature)
  • Isabel W. ’20 (Science in Motion)
  • Kayla L. ’19 (Things with Wings)
  • Alex Northrup, Director of Educational Technology and History Department Chair (Landlubbers)
  • Ellie P. ’20 (Microscopic Views)
  • Pia S. ’18 (Aerial Perspectives)
  • Emily Z. ’21 (Landscapes and Waterscapes)
The winners received prizes, and their works will be on permanent display in the Science Wing of Schoolhouse. If you have not had a chance to see their stunning photographs in person, stop by the next time you are on campus!
