Foxcroft vs. Eastern Mennonite

James Sweeney
Foxcroft fights hard in first game of season.
After only three practices returning from Spring Break the Foxcroft Varsity Soccer Team was thrust into a game with a very experienced and organized opponent. Although the final score was not what we desired, the team put up a fantastic effort and also learned a lot that will be vital as we continue throughout our season.

There were several outstanding performances across our roster. Chiara Dellaccio played her first ever game as a goalie and made several great saves. Our defense was anchored by Sarah Ford, Maddie Kaplan, and ZoraNelle Broussard. The three of them worked extremely well together to stifle a potent and fast attack. Our midfield was able to create offensive chances while trying to contain one of the best players we will play against this season. Specifically Ruby Dewling, Madison Rector, and Lily McCrehin were tasked with trying to keep this all-state player under wraps.

Although we did not get on the scoreboard, we were still able to create chances and it shows we have promise as we move forward into more games soon. I am very proud of the way the team performed and can't wait to keep the season going next week.
