IEA Team Headed to Zone Championships after Winning Region 3

Aradeal set the tone for the day with a beautiful over fences trip in the Open class, winning the first class of the day. The momentum continued with a strong third-place finish from Maddie in the Intermediate Fences and another win in the JV Novice Fences class for AnnaMaria. Maddie also competed in a large and competitive Individual Intermediate Fences class, missing the Zone qualification by only one place and finishing in second place. 

The Foxcroft Team had a 5-point lead heading into the flat phase, and Sammie helped keep us comfortably at the top of the scoreboard with a second-place finish in the JV Beginner Walk/Trot/Canter. Top three finishes were the name of the game on Sunday, and AnnaMaria secured another second-place finish in the JV Novice Flat class. Sammie competed in the Individual JV Beginner WTC and earned another second place ribbon, also missing individual Zone qualification by one place. 

To finish the day, Anneliese and Aradeal took the reins in the Intermediate and Open Flat classes, respectively. Tough competitors and challenging flat tests didn’t discourage them from fighting for our last few team points, and a fourth and fifth-place finish was enough to clinch Foxcroft's win in the team competition. 

With the Regional win in the books, the IEA team heads to Zone 3 Championships at the Virginia Horse Center in Lexington, VA, March 15-17, 2024.
