IEA Team Qualifies for Regional Finals after Win at Wulf Crest Stables

Sophomores Aradeal H. and Maddie K. won the Open Fences and Intermediate Fences classes, respectively, securing an immediate 14-point lead on the team board. With this win in the books, Maddie K. also secured an individual qualification for Regional Finals in February. 

Valeska F. ‘26 had a personal best with a smooth and technically accurate ride in the Open Fences class that made her coaches proud. In her Novice Fences debut, senior Madison B. was rewarded for managing a tough draw and placed second out of 10 competitors, adding another 5 points to the team tally. 

Highlights from the flat phase of the day include thoughtful and organized riding in crowded classes from Maddie and freshman Josephine K. in the Intermediate Flat and Novice Flat, earning each a fifth-place ribbon, and Sammie M. ’27 winning the Beginner Walk/Trot/Canter class to finish the day. Sammie has already qualified for Regional Finals as an individual in the Beginner Walk/Trot/Canter class and accumulated enough points this weekend to “point out” and move up to the Novice division next season. 

Foxcroft IEA will head into the postseason on Sunday, February 11, 2024, for Regionals Finals, hosted by Wulf Crest Stables, with a full team in addition to Maddie and Sammie, who will represent the team as individuals.
