Blue Ridge Wildlife Center Ambassadors Visit Foxcroft

On December 9, Foxcroft had a very exciting presentation for the Morning Meeting. Blue Ridge Wildlife Center, an organization created to aid and rehabilitate Virginia's native wildlife, came to present at Foxcroft. Ms. Jennifer (a staff member from Blue Ridge Wildlife Center) and her ambassadors came to share with the community about wildlife rehabilitation and care. The ambassadors included a Red Morph Screech Owl, a Big Brown Bat, an Eastern Ratsnake, a Striped Skunk, and the fan-favorite Tugboat, a Wood Turtle.

The presentation included stories about the ambassadors and how they ended up at Blue Ridge Wildlife and tips about what to do with a wildlife emergency. After Morning Meeting, Ms. Jennifer and her ambassadors stayed to talk to the Animal Science and AP Biology classes. With the smaller group, Ms. Jennifer talked more in-depth about what to expect in wildlife emergencies and common treatments and rehabilitation for the animals. Altogether, the visit/presentation from Blue Ridge Wildlife was a huge success and an amazing experience. (Hope to see Tugboat again!)
