Spring Sports Athletes Celebrated
The Athletic Association and Athletic Department, together with the Parents’ Association, hosted a wonderful Spring Sports Awards ceremony Monday evening celebrating Foxcroft’s teams and accomplishments. Athletic Association senior heads Lilly R. and Amelia F. and junior assistant heads Molly C., Lucy M., Winley T., and Olivia W. emceed the entire evening. After the ceremony, students were treated to tasty desserts organized by Parents’ Association Athletic Coordinators Laura Carpenter and Erin Hershey.
During the program, members of the lacrosse, soccer, and softball teams were presented with certificates, and varsity athletes got their letters. Each coach said a few words about their team’s season and individual awards were presented, including the very special and very rare 12 Sport Athlete Award, given to student-athletes who play a varsity sport each of their 12 seasons at Foxcroft. This year, the award was given to not one, but two athletes! Congratulations to Adair S. ’22 (volleyball, basketball, track & field, and lacrosse) and Elizabeth S. ’22 (volleyball, basketball, track & field, and softball). The Riding Department also awarded unique seasonal prizes.
All-conference honors for the Greater Piedmont Athletic Conference (GPAC) were not included as those nominations have not yet been submitted/tallied, so more recognition may be forthcoming!
