Foxcroft Loses Last Regular Season Match

Foxcroft came into Tandem Friends with a diminished roster that forced several players into unfamiliar roles, and despite a good effort, they lost the match 0-3. The varsity squad had a hard time finding its rhythm in the first set. The score was 9-11 early, but difficulty in serve receive caused Foxcroft to fall 17-25. The second set looked better, as the team took an 11-6 lead. Tandem went on a 7-point streak to put them ahead 13-17, and they pressed the advantage to a 17-25 victory. Foxcroft came out strong in the third set, taking a 9-1 lead, but the serve receive woes continues and they ultimately fell short at 24-26.

Adair S. '22 picked up 12 service points and 5 aces. Kat W. '23 earned 6 service points and 4 aces. Mimi W. '24 picked up 6 service points and an ace.

Foxcroft plays next in the opening round of the Greater Piedmont Athletic Conference (GPAC), which will again be at Tandem Friends on Tuesday, 2 Nov, at 3:30 p.m.
