A Musical Treat

Music students perform at Fall Recital

The sound of music filled FoxHound Auditorium Wednesday evening when five voice, violin, and piano students presented a lovely recital showcasing their talents to the Foxcroft community.
In the spirit of the season, junior Anna B. selected "I"ll Be Home for Christmas" by Walter Kent. Violinist Jennifer C. '21 performed "Somewhere in Time" by John Barry, arranged by Jennifer herself, while Shea H. '20 selected Arcangelo Corelli's "Sonata No. 8 in e minor" for her performance on the violin. Piano students Mary J. '23 and Scarlett D. '21 performed "Valse in a minor, Op. posth., B. 150" by Frédéric Chopin and Percy Grainger's "English Waltz," respectively. Piano teacher Eric Dombrowski accompanied Anna, Jennifer, and Shea.

Students who take music lessons for credit are required to perform at least once each semester. Many do far more, appearing in the fall revue, with their a capella groups, and at special events, both on campus and off. This Sunday's Lessons & Carols program will feature the talents of several student musicians as well. The hearty ovations at the recital demonstrated how grateful the community is that our girls share their gifts so often.

Many thanks to Chorale Director and Music Coordinator Amy Asbury and World Languages teacher and piano instructor Eric Dombrowski for their hard work coordinating the recital and helping our students refine their musical talents!
