Riding Team Takes Championship at First IEA Show of the Year
Led by juniors Emma P. and Csenge V., who each had a first and a second, Foxcroft riders collected 12 ribbons Saturday to earn the championship at an Interscholastic Equestrian Association (IEA) show held at Patuxent Run Stables in Prince Frederick. In its first competition of the year, the team finished with 30 points, 4 ahead of Patuxent Run Stables.
Emma, competing at the Varsity Open level, and Csenge, Varsity Intermediate, each won their over fences class and finished second on the flat. Also in the Varsity Intermediate division, freshman Sage W. took a 2nd and a 3rd and her classmate, Lexi H., earned a 3rd place ribbon as well. JV Intermediate Open rider Isabelle M. ’23 and JV Novice competitor Larisa B. ’20 picked up second-place ribbons.
