Academic Concentrations

A Message from Assistant Head of School for Academics Courtney Ulmer

We are excited to be completing year one of our Academic Concentration Program in Animal Science, The Arts, Global Studies, and STEM. Our five seniors have been crafting their websites, working on their individual research, and will make their final presentations in early April.

As we move into year two, our juniors and sophomores are making plans for summer internships, working with clubs and other on-campus opportunities, and brainstorming ideas for their own senior year work.
We will be offering three new classes for the 2019/20 school year which, while open to all students, have been designed to support our concentration students. They include an Equine Science class to enhance the Animal Science Concentration, and two STEM classes — a Technology class and a Statistics class — both of which are required for students in Animal Science and STEM concentrations. The application process for younger students interested in having a concentration has begun.

Look for more information from the Academic Office in the next few weeks about course selection and some of the other new classes for the 2019/2020 school year.
