Winter Athletes Celebrated
Wrapping up another season of FXC athletics, a special ceremony celebrating our winter athletes took place Tuesday morning during The Meet period. The Athletic Association and Athletic Department, together with the Parents’ Association, orchestrated the special event at which coaches honored the hard-working members of the basketball and climbing teams.
Coaches spoke about their teams’ seasons and presented certificates to every athletes and special awards to several. Competitive Rock Climbing Coach Josie Ross took a few moments to recognize the senior captains on both squads — JV’s Bella B. and Varsity’s Megan P. Megan has been such a dedicated and enthusiastic force behind the competitive climbing program, which is only in its second year, that Coach Ross credits its success to her. “Megan, while your time as a Foxcroft climber is coming to an end, this team truly is your Foxcroft legacy,” she said. The ceremony concluded with delicious donuts provided by the Parents’ Association. Special thanks to Jan Buffenbarger, the PA's Athletic Association Coordinator, for her early morning run to Krispy Kreme to pick them up! Thanks to all the folks who made the awards ceremony special, especially the Athletic Association, Athletic Director Michelle Woodruff, and Athletic Trainer Ruth Ann Allen.
