Riding Team Places Third, Additional Students Qualify for Regionals at Final Regular-Season IEA Show

Two students qualified for regional competition and Foxcroft’s Riding Team placed third Sunday in the last regular-season Interscholastic Equestrian Association (IEA) Show of the school year, hosted by Madeira School in McLean, VA.

Freshman Gigi G. won the Junior Varsity Novice Equitation Over Fences and took second place on the Flat to qualify in both classes. Senior Kayla L., who had previously qualified in the Varsity Open Flat class, placed second Over Fences to earn a spot in that class as well. They will join junior Elena B., sophomore Emma P., and freshman Cecilia M. as individual riders competing at the Zone 3 Region 3 Finals, scheduled for March 3 at Hazelwild Farm in Fredricksburg, VA. Foxcroft will also participate in the team competition, having qualified for that in November at the IEA Show the School hosted.

At Madeira on Sunday, freshman Georgia R. and sophomore Julia C. also picked up blue ribbons, in the JV Novice Equitation on the Flat and the JV Beginner Walk/Trot/Canter, respectively. Foxcroft riders collected six top-3 finishes on the day.
