Virtual STEM Challenge

This year's virtual STEM Challenge features two ways for individual girls to participate: play our custom trivia game opening February 15 and join us over Zoom for the main event on February 20!
Compete for prizes and learn about coding and cybersecurity through our custom trivia game, which opens on Monday, February 15th, and closes on Friday, February 19th. Then join us on Saturday, February 20th, for an interactive virtual session hosted by engineers from sponsoring firm Stryker, featuring challenges, prizes, and a career panel. Register today and you'll be sent links to the trivia game and virtual event in February.

2021 Theme: “Code for Good”
  • Not all hacking is illegal! Companies pay good hackers to find security issues in their systems.
  • The largest data breach on record occurred in 2013, in which account information was stolen for over 3 billion Yahoo! accounts.
  • On average, every person on earth has to remember about 38 passwords across all of their user accounts.
  • Hacking isn't limited to bank accounts or computers: in 2015, researchers remotely hacked into a Jeep Cherokee's onboard computer, taking control of the steering, brakes, and transmission.
