Alumnae to Participate in Career Day

Once again, we are excited to host Alumnae Career Day on Friday, April 21. Panelists will talk about their careers in small group settings with students who have expressed an interest in similar career paths. We hope this will give the girls insight into the various jobs and possible detours one might encounter in choosing a particular field or career.
In addition to the panelists, we are delighted to have Elizabeth Lester 1988 as this year's Career Day keynote speaker. Elizabeth will speak during Morning Meeting about her work in design, architecture, and project management. After Morning Meeting, students will attend breakout sessions led by the following alumnae:

Allegra Brantly 2004

Finance & Entrepreneur
Allegra Moet Brantly is on a mission to lead 1 million women to $1 million in net worth. After starting her career in beauty and fashion in New York, she learned firsthand how much money women miss out on when they don't speak up for their worth in the workplace. After becoming a salary negotiation coach to help close the gender pay gap, Allegra moved to Austin, TX, in 2017 and founded Factora, an online course and community that educates and empowers women to build wealth — together. A serial entrepreneur, real estate investor, dog lover, and host of the podcast Coffee & Coin, she's also a new mom to a baby girl named Luscia (future Foxcroft Class of 2041!).

Courtney Maier Burbela 1985

Marketing & Fine Arts
Courtney graduated from Lehigh University in 1989 with a B.A. in Art History/B.A. in Painting. The majority of her career has been working within various art galleries, from Chicago to New York. Currently, she is the Director of Client Services and Strategic Partnerships at SRI Fine Art Services. In her role, she works with new and existing clients to cultivate conversations and marketing strategies and to establish strong partnerships. She is also a current member of the Foxcroft Alumnae Council and serves as Co-Chair of the Alumnae Outreach Committee.

Tiffany Perry Goodman 2003

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Coordinator at The Steward School
At Foxcroft, Tiffany was the Hound Captain (Go Hounds), very into sports, a Whip/Prefect, and in Rhythm Nation (the dance club in honor of Ms. Janet Jackson), among many other clubs. After graduating, she attended the University of Richmond. Going in, Tiffany thought she wanted to be a doctor or nurse (because she loved the sciences so much at Foxcroft) but ended up with a degree in Religion and Art. After college, she worked at a nonprofit with children who lived in an under-resourced neighborhood and loved it. Later she received her Master's Degree to become a therapist serving that same community, focused on children or trauma-informed care. Seeing another need based on her many experiences grappling with cultural divides between Blacks and Whites, she began consulting with other counseling and nonprofit agencies that lacked diversity, which led to her current career as a Diversity Equity and Inclusion practitioner. She currently serves as Vice President of Foxcroft's Alumnae Council and is a member of the DEI Committee.

Alex Grace 2016

Software Engineer
After graduating from Foxcroft, Alex attended the University of Virginia as a student-athlete and engineering major. During college, she learned to balance academics, a social life, family time, and sports and interned at The Washington Post as a software engineer. After graduating from the University of Virginia with a B.S. in Computer Science, Alex worked full-time at The Washington Post. After two years of mostly coding, she pivoted into the role of Digital Transformation Lead at a wine company, Trinchero Family Estates. She is thrilled to come back to speak about STEM, being a woman in tech, and her career path.

Heather Gustafson 2008

EMMY-winning news anchor and film producer
Heather holds a B.A. from Lynn University and is working on an M.A. from Pepperdine University. She is an accomplished television news journalist and independent film director. Heather’s recent groundbreaking documentary: TRASHY: a zero waste film, won several awards, including “Best Environmental Documentary” at the Chesapeake Film Festival, and was called “life-changing” by the Portland Film Festival. She has worked in countless television news stations and was a prime-time news anchor in a top 20 market. She currently resides in Washington, DC.

Allison Krumsiek 1998

Author, Creative & Grant Writer
Allison Krumsiek is an author and poet living in the Washington, DC, area. After 15 years working in fundraising and grant writing for nonprofits like the American Red Cross and the Oakland Zoo, Allison shifted into a career as a technical writer for government contracting. Some of her projects included training manuals for Department of Defense agencies and editing annual Agriculture reports. Currently, Allison works for the Flight Program Operations group of the FAA, writing articles about new airplanes, learning about bird strike technology, and hosting career events exploring engine technology. She has also written six books for young adults in the Greenhaven Hot Topics series. Allison carries a red pen in her purse and will edit anything available, including signs on the Metro or in elevators. When she isn’t writing or editing, Allison can be found fearlessly defending her field hockey goal.

Lindsay Long Mukaddam 2004

Travel Content Creator & Solo Trip Guide
Lindsay attended James Madison University and earned a B.A. in Theatre and Dance. After college, she moved to Austin, TX, where she still lives. While working full-time as a Live Events Production Manager at Texas Performing Arts at the University of Texas at Austin, she started her blog and social media account, One Girl Wandering. OGW focuses on empowering and educating women to travel the world without waiting on anyone else. Today, Lindsay works with travel companies, hotels, tourism boards, and more to create video and photo content centered around travel. She has created online education programs to help travelers learn how to travel more while spending less through travel hacking. Lindsay is most proud of starting her second year of hosting group trips around the world — bringing her online community into real life and providing an opportunity for women to connect, check off bucket list items, and discover themselves while discovering the world.

Carter Ware Perrella 2013

Fashion Finance & Retail Planning
Carter Ware Perrella graduated from Washington and Lee University in 2017 with a B.A. in Economics. Her unexpected love for the subject was sparked during her senior year at Foxcroft in AP Econ. After several fashion internships in college, she began her career in Retail Planning at Theory upon graduation from W&L, blending her interests in business and fashion. Since Fall 2020, Carter has worked at Tory Burch, where she is currently the Manager for Global Inventory & Pricing. During her time at Foxcroft, Carter was a captain on both the lacrosse and field hockey teams, where she learned invaluable leadership skills applicable to the corporate world and beyond.

Catherine Reynolds 2013

STEM – Civil Engineering
Cat graduated from the University of Virginia in 2017 with a B.S. in Civil Engineering before earning her M.S. in Environmental Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2018. While in academia, she researched the nexus between engineering and human health, leading to a specialty in Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH). Throughout her career, Cat has worked on various infrastructure and engineering projects for the United States Agency for International Development and the Millenium Challenge Corporation. She now works at Native Strategies, a small Native American-owned engineering firm, as a Project Lead for a multi-year government-funded project to assess and investigate water sanitation systems on tribal lands across the country. Outside of work, Cat is an avid CrossFitter and lifter and recently competed in her first powerlifting competition, during which she broke a Virginia State record. At Foxcroft, Cat was a standout field hockey player and Hound Painter. She credits Foxcroft with helping her develop her "no-nonsense" personality, which has helped her thrive in a largely male-dominated field.

After Foxcroft, Dana attended the University of Florida for three years before transitioning to the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences Physician Assistant program and graduated in 1993. After working in surgery rotations, critical care, and dermatology, Dana started working in aesthetic medicine in 2009 and has never looked back. Dana attests to the environment here at Foxcroft for encouraging her to study and concentrate on academic pursuits after high school. She is passionate about teaching, sharing knowledge, and helping elevate the aesthetics industry through safe and effective treatments. When not working, Dana spends time with her three college-age sons, her husband, their three-year-old German Shepherd Luci, and two cats.
