Investing in Girls: Creating Strong Women
In order to prepare our students for success, wellness, and a life of leadership and philanthropy, we must provide skills that will give our girls agency over their financial future. To do so, Foxcroft has joined forces with Invest in Girls, a national organization dedicated to the empowerment of high school girls by teaching financial concepts, exposing girls to professional women as role models, and introducing them to financial services companies and career paths in finance.
Foxcroft students will participate in four topic-specific workshops each year. We’ve carved out time in our school schedule to avoid conflicts with classes and athletic events. Workshops will be taught both by staff of Invest in Girls as well as Foxcroft staff and local community partners. Deborah Anderson, Foxcroft’s Business Manager, will teach the sophomore workshop on budgeting and personal finance.
Additionally, Foxcroft can tailor workshops to meet specific needs of our students. For example, the Junior Class will attend a workshop to help them plan a successful class fundraiser to be held in March, 2017.

- Sophomores: Personal finance and budgeting
- Juniors: Investing your money
- Seniors: Financing college, taxes, insurance, interviewing and philanthropic giving
