Alex G. Runs Quantico Ragged

There is no one in the Delaney Athletic Conference's Division II who can outrun Foxcroft junior guard Alex G.

Alex is perpetual motion and plays at a high level of speed. She is unbeatable in the open floor and her aggressiveness is in a league of its own.

Alex put her speed and aggressiveness on display at Engelhard Gym and scored 27 points to lead Foxcroft past DAC Division II opponent Quantico, 46-29.

It was the most points scored in a single game since Foxcroft joined the DAC in 2008 and bettered the mark of 24 she set against Wakefield Country Day School on Jan. 8.

She had 17 points at halftime as Foxcroft built a 24-9 lead and, after Quantico cut the lead to four points in the third quarter when Coach Patrick Finn put in his substitutes, she scored 10 points after returning to the game with just over two minues remaining in the third quarter.

Alex had eight points and junior point guard Pipsy S. had six in the third quarter as Foxcroft outscored Quantico, 14-5, to nail down the victory.

Junior Kat F., coming off a school record 21-point rebounding effort against St. John, had 12 rebounds and five points to break the school record for most rebounds in successive games. Kat's 33 rebounds in two games broke the record of 32 set by McKenna Andrews in the 2012-13 season.

Freshman Mia M. chipped in with seven rebounds and sophomore Marley B. had five rebounds and four points in her longest stint on the court this season.
