Field Hockey Advances to State Final, XC Has Top DAC Runner in VISAA DII Championship!

Varsity Field Hockey earned a place in the VISAA Division II championship game Friday afternoon with a 3-0 victory over Carlisle School in a semifinal game played at Norfolk Academy.

Field Hockey will take on arch-nemesis Fredericksburg Academy at the National Training Center in Virginia Beach Saturday at 6 pm.
On Friday, Allison B. '17 scored twice and her sister Haley '19 once to lift Foxcroft . All three goals came on corners with Lucy collecting one assist and Pipsy getting two.

"It was a fantastic game," said Coach Michelle Woodruff. "One of the best we've played. The turf was fast, the sky was blue and the field hockey gods were happy with us!"

Woordruff was especially peased with the way Foxcroft played in its own end.

"Our defense was on point today," she noted. "Our goalies had some fantastic saves and Millie '17 and Lindsay '17 were stellar in the backfield.

"For many of the girls on the field it was their best game. I am so incredibly proud of them."

Field Hockey will play FA for the fourth time this season Saturday. A 4-2 winner over Covenant School in the other semifinal, FA has won the past three state titles and defeated Foxcroft last week to claim the Delaney Athletic Conference title.

In October, though, Foxcroft played the Falcons to a 2-2 tie and was pressuring the FA goalie when time ran out.

Go, Foxcroft!
