Joining the Alumnae Ranks: The Class of 2024 is Welcomed to the Alumnae Association

At a special dinner last Thursday, April 18, the Class of 2024 was officially welcomed into the Alumnae Association by President of the Alumnae Council Tarin Heilman Horan '93. Our seniors, the Board of Trustees, members of the Alumnae Council, alumnae, administrators, and faculty advisors were all in attendance.
Guests were welcomed by Head of School Cathy McGehee, who noted that the evening was a celebration of an important milestone for the seniors in their Foxcroft journey. The sentiment of growth and excitement for the next chapter continued with Horan, who offered, “Though these changes are often daunting and challenging, you have acquired the skills, knowledge, and friendships to succeed and make an impact in the world regardless of the path you choose.”

While reflecting on what joining the sisterhood of 3,000 alumnae may mean to the soon-to-be graduates, Horan shared, “You are joining an amazing group of three thousand strong. We have succeeded both personally and professionally, forever driven by the foundation formed during our years at Foxcroft … As you embark on your next chapter, I hope you will come to cherish your reunion weekends as many of us have and realize that your time spent here with your friends is truly the best.”

Student Head of School, senior Gracie R., spoke at the dinner too, sharing, “Tonight, I have the privilege of standing before so many incredible women who each have their own unique experiences with this place. Every school has something that makes it stand out. For me, Foxcroft’s thing is community. Whether at the international fashion show or the poetry slam, our whole student body comes together to support each other. It is rare to have a whole student body singing 'Take Me Home, Country Roads' together at an Open Mic. Now, the Class of 2024 has even more community, all of you. Maybe we will have our own song to sing together one day.”

Following Gracie’s speech, the newly elected 2024 Class Representatives were announced. Congratulations to Eva C., Grace P., and Gracie on their important roles!
