Alison Firestone Robitaille

Class of 1995
Inducted 2015
Even as a student at Foxcroft, Alison was a rising star on the Grand Prix circuit, competing in her first Grand Prix at age 16 and at international shows by the time she graduated.

The Exceptional Proficiency Program, under which many Foxcroft students pursue their passions — whether riding, figure skating, studying voice at Juilliard, or competing at world sport climbing competitions — was created when Alison came to Foxcroft. The unique program allowed students with special skills and dedication to miss time at school so they can pursue their passion at the highest level. In Alison's case, that meant spending several months each winter training and competing in Florida.

Upon graduating from Foxcroft, Alison earned a reputation as a fierce competitor, garnering the leading rider and horse (Gustl P) titles in the Samsung Nations Cup World Series. She also was named the U.S. Olympic Committee's Female Equestrian Athlete of the Year by the ripe old age of 21. Alison represented the United States at the World Equestrian Games and 2004 Nations Cup and was selected as an alternate for the 1996 Olympic Games.

Alison has remained a strong and consistent force on the Grand Prix circuit and continues to train and show a number of horses. She also trains several up-and-coming riders, including another Foxcroft graduate, her niece Christina Firestone '14. In addition, Alison has served as a judge for the Washington International Horse Show Equitation Finals.
