Dear Students and Families,

Foxcroft’s Student and Family Handbook is revised each year to reflect our experiences together. Our Student Council and our Honor Council, comprised of students elected by their peers, work closely with the Office of Student Life to review our community standards. Foxcroft’s community standards reflect our School’s values and help us create expectations for how we want to live and work together. Our students’ participation in the conversation is central to our mission and philosophy at Foxcroft to educate young women in leadership, responsibility, and integrity.

It is vitally important that both students and families remain familiar with the contents of the handbook. The handbook is intended to be a reliable source of information on life at Foxcroft. The topics included range from our values and expectations to policies governing the academic office. The handbook includes rules for personal conduct and behavior. It also includes information about services for students and whom families may contact when they have questions. We hope that it will serve as a useful guide for all members of our community  in understanding the values, life, and procedures of the School  as we work together to be our best selves.

The policies and procedures outlined in this handbook may be revised as a result of our continuing discussions and as needs change during the year. Any updates will be communicated to students and families in announcements and in newsletters, and the most updated handbook will always be posted on the School website. Please note that not knowing an expectation is not a valid excuse for not meeting it.

What is most important is that we strive to live in the spirit of community, integrity, respect and inclusion while also following all of our community’s standards as outlined in the handbook.  Although there cannot be a rule to cover every incident, we need to focus on  the spirit of the rules and to live in the understanding that our actions reflect our character and the experience of others in our Foxcroft community.

We welcome you into the conversation, and thank you for supporting our work together.
