Power of Data (POD) Teacher Workshops

Foxcroft School will be hosting one-week Power Of Data (POD) Teacher Workshops led by Director of Educational Technology Alex Northrup in June 2018 and 2019 as part of the POD Project. Dates for 2018 are June 18-22.

Participants will receive monetary stipends, as well as breakfast and lunch. Free on-campus housing available is available, but limited, so apply now!
POD Teacher Workshops help teachers:
  • improve student learning through Geospatial Inquiry.
  • engage students in 21st century skills (critical thinking, collaboration, communication, creativity)
  • promote student awareness of careers in geospatial technologies.
  • learn and practice their own ArcGIS Online and pedagogical skills.
  • build a network of professional resources

Participants will receive:
  • $350 stipend and a professional development certificate documenting 35 hours of seat time for attendance at the POD Teacher Workshop
  • $200 after implementing your Geospatial Inquiry lesson, submitting an implementation log, and administering an online survey to students.
Fees: None! Housing, continental breakfast, and lunch are provided. (Participants will be responsible for their own dinners.)

Foxcroft is located in historic Middleburg, Virginia, the heart of horse country and Northern Virginia's wine country - several optional evening field trips will be offered to participants.
