Break a Leg: Performing Arts Students on Stage this Winter

Our performing arts students all have opportunities to shine in the coming months — and we hope some of you can come and support them! On Friday evening, December 7, the Theater Production class will present a workshop version of The Play that Goes Wrong, a play by Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer, and Henry Shields. After students return in January, Chorale and voice and instrumental music students will perform “mid-winter music” themed selections at the Chorale Concert on the 30th.
Chorale has two other major appearances: Sunday, Dec. 2, their nonstop carols will tell the nativity story at the Christmas Pageant; and a week later, on Dec. 9, their voices will highlight our annual service of Lessons and Carols with several pieces they are already hard at work on.

The production of The Play That Goes Wrong is a work in progress that the Theater Production class has been using to learn all aspects of producing a play. Students have been involved in auditions, casting, directing, costuming, and many more tasks that are required to get a play on its feet. The show itself is a play within a play, in which a high school drama club mounts a play called, "Murder at Haversham Manor," and everything goes hilariously wrong.

Curtain for The Play That Goes Wrong is 7:30pm in FoxHound Auditorium, and admission is free.

A joyful noise will be resounding all around Foxcroft over the next few months. If you are in the area, we hope you will have the opportunity to hear some of it!
