Byrne Gallery Exhibit Features Foxcroft Fine Arts Teacher

Jacquelyn Jouvenal —  better known as Ms. Washam around Foxcroft, where she teaches Fine Arts — has a one-woman exhibition of her expressive landscape paintings at the Byrne Gallery in Middleburg this month.

The exhibition, called “Sanctuaries,” runs from September 1 to September 30, and there is a public reception for the artist at the Gallery on Saturday, September 8, from 5-8pm. Come celebrate one of our talented faculty members!
Jackie grew up near the Potomac River and spent many of her days enjoying the river’s wild beauty. As a result, she seeks out water and nature as subjects in her artwork, which is painted mostly in oil and pastel. Her paintings transport the viewer from the frantic pace of today's society to the peace and stillness of the countryside.

Jackie, who earned a BFA from Syracuse University and an MEd from University of Maryland, teaches Ceramics and Artist’s Portfolio at Foxcroft. She also runs the Silver Moth Studio, which offers summer classes in a variety of studio arts at Foxcroft.

The Byrne Gallery is located at 7 West Washington Street in Middleburg, Virginia. Gallery hours are Monday and Tuesday by appointment only, Wednesday through Saturday 11am to 5pm and Sunday noon to 5pm.
