Save a Life: Give Blood

Approximately 36,000 units of red blood cells are needed every day in the U.S. That's a lot of blood that must come from individual donations. Foxcroft School students urge all eligible individuals to come help meet that need at a Red Cross Blood Drive scheduled for Wednesday, April 25 from 1:30-7pm at the girls’ boarding and day school.
“Donating blood takes less than an hour,” says senior Anna N., one of the School’s Service Learning Interns. “And it can give another person years of life. Please consider giving.”

To give this gift of life, one must be in good general health, be 17 years old (or 16 with parental permission), and weigh at least 110 pounds. For more details on eligibility requirements, please visit the Red Cross website.

Walk-ins are welcome and can generally be accommodated promptly. Making an appointment, however, may speed your visit further.

Appointments may be scheduled by calling 800.RED.CROSS or going to www.redcrossblood.org. Please use the Sponsor Code “Foxcroft School.”
