Lindy D. ’17 Plays On!

Pianist Lindy D. ’17 took top honors again on March 24 when she performed at the Zone Competition of the James A. Bland Music Scholarship Program, a statewide contest sponsored by the Lions Club.
Lindy’s rendition of Chopin's “Fantaisie Impromptu” at the Winchester, VA, competition earned her first place in the high school instrumentalist division — which means she advances to the 24C District Competition, scheduled for April 7 in Harrisonburg.

Should Lindy win again, she will be one of six District Competition winners who will play in the State Scholarship Competition during the Lions of Virginia State Convention in Roanoke, VA, on May 26 — which is also Foxcroft’s Commencement day.

At States, a $2,500 scholarship will be awarded to the top
instrumentalist. The runner-up will receive $2,000, third earns $1,500, and the three other finalists get $1,000 each.
