Remembering Dr. King

On Monday, January 16, We the People, the diversity and inclusion club at Foxcroft, gave a presentation to celebrate Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Following an introduction which included excerpts from Coretta Scott King, Martin Luther King, Jr.’ wife, reminding us why we celebrate the holiday, the club presented a video highlighting parts of Dr. King’s speeches while John Lennon’s song “Imagine” played in the background.
We the People ended the celebration by creating teams arranged by advisory groups for a rousing game of Kahoot about the life of Dr. King. The winning team got a bag of sweet treats to remind everyone how much sweeter life would be if we all respected each other. After all, dignity and respect create a community of inclusion.
