Hispanic Heritage Month Banquet was Informative and Fun

From the Spanish Club

In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, Spanish Club hosted a banquet to share the importance of honoring one another's identity and heritage. The theme was “Mis Raices” — my roots. Before dinner, Spanish Club leaders and members, and others from our community spoke and performed in front of the school. Many students read quotes and reflections representing the banquet’s theme. Along with quotes, students also read poems, performed songs, and shared an Argentinian dance (“El Tango”).
Following are some student reflections:

“For me, the banquet was a perfect way to celebrate Hispanic Heritage with the Foxcroft community. It was super fun planning the event and coming up with quotes, poems, and reflections to present. Although I have a huge fear of talking in front of large crowds, I felt really supported by my friends and classmates so that I could speak with confidence. Overall, the banquet was a success and fun!” — AM C. ’25

“Hispanic Heritage Month this year has been really special to me. I learned a lot during this month from the Morning Meeting presentations. Being a leader in the Spanish Club has been great, especially this month during our meetings, banquet, etc. As nervous as I was to speak in front of the school, I had so much fun getting ready for the banquet by dressing up and dancing as we practiced before everything started. Everyone who spoke or performed at the banquet made me feel extremely comfortable and supported. I had so much fun and can’t wait to do it again next year!” — Kylie O. ’24
