CBBCF Team-up with Athletic Association to Promote Breast Cancer Awareness Month

By London H. ’23, Foxcroft CBBCF Student Board Member

This month, Grace P. ’24 and I, serving as student members of the Cherry Blossom Breast Cancer Foundation’s (CBBCF) Board of Directors, have hosted activities at Foxcroft and educated the community with one goal in mind: to raise awareness for National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. As an all-girls school, breast cancer awareness, education, and prevention are especially near and dear to our hearts. The mission of the Foundation is to support local women and families dealing with the ramifications of the disease. We both look forward to heightening awareness surrounding breast cancer and the Foundation for the rest of the month.
On October 2, we hosted a “Pink Out” walk, attended by both students and faculty, where participants dressed up in their most spirited pink to come together and support the cause. Even though it was moved inside due to inclement weather, the walk was a success, with upbeat music to keep participants motivated!

In Morning Meetings, we’ve been sharing facts while simultaneously teaming up with Athletic Association to “onesie” people — each Friday, a student and faculty member are surprised with a onesie they must wear to class and work for the entire day. We are hosting a bracelet fundraiser during the last week of October. There’ll also be a schoolwide “Pink Out” on October 29 to end the month, and if students buy a bracelet, they are permitted to wear jeans on the “Pink Out” day.

This Friday is Foxcroft’s “Pink Out” game day, so come and support all our athletes! Thank you for all your support thus far, and we look forward to the rest of the month!
