Foxcroft Battles Conference Leader at Home

The Foxcroft volleyball squad carried a lot of energy into Tuesday's home match against conference leader Wakefield, but they fell just short at the end. Wakefield led in the first set by 15-17, but senior captain Adair S. placed several good serves over to help the home team take the first set 25-20. In the second set, Foxcroft had some difficulty with serve receive, especially against Wakefield's setter, and they fell 9-25. Foxcroft gained back momentum in the fourth set and pushed the score to 18-25. In the final set, Wakefield jumped out to a 0-10 lead, but Foxcroft dug deep to make the score 19-21, but it was too little, too late, and they lost 19-25.

Kat W. '22 had a solid match, earning 10 service points, including one ace, to complement her 2 kills, 2 assists, 2 digs, and 2 blocks. Adair S. '21 had a great night from outside hitter, recording 4 kills and 7 digs. Elizabeth S. '21 was equally impressive on defense and offense, earning 8 kills and 8 digs. Mimi W. '24 had her best match yet as setter, and she racked up 6 assists in the effort.
