Foxcroft Volleyball Loses a Grinding Match at Home

Foxcroft volleyball had an up-and-down game in its first match against Oakcrest, and despite a rally in the third and fourth sets, they fell three sets to one. The first two sets came down to who played the best on the floor, as neither team was able to make a good service run. Foxcroft fell 18-25 in the first set, and they were able to string together a few points in the second set to finalize it at 22-25. Foxcroft opened strong in the third set, as Ashleigh H. '23 started the set with four straight aces. Elizabeth S. '22 gathered several service points of her own, and Foxcroft led 8-2 going into the first time out. Oakcrest made it as close as 22-20 before Kat W. '23 sealed the set at 25-22. Foxcroft could not regain that same magic in the fourth set and fell behind 11-22. Farah M. '23 and Ella S. '22 entered the match and brought Foxcroft as close as 18-21, but the rally ultimately fell short at 22-25.  Sophomore Maya K. contributed several blocks in the effort.

Foxcroft's next match will be Thursday at home against Randolph Macon Academy at 4:00 p.m. Foxcroft families are welcome to attend according to Covid protocols.
