Foxcroft Earns First Win of Season

Foxcroft made the trek to Quantico on Tuesday afternoon, and a fire alarm in the gym before the game was a harbinger of the performance that the varsity volleyball team was about to give. After sacrificing two quick points, Foxcroft ran away with the first set, led by Kat W.'s ('23) serves, which set the team on an eight-point run. The team secured the first set by 25-12. Foxcroft easily won the second by a score of 25-11, quickly killing Quantico's rallies and demonstrating great service, including four aces. Eva C. '24 opened the third set with eight straight service points; while Quantico showed good heart, Foxcroft took that early lead to a 25-16 victory.

Cassie C. '22 was great in her first match as libero. Amelia F. '22 did well in the outside hitter position and earned a strong block in the second set. Maya M. '23 racked up a block and a kill while also earning four service points. Captain Elizabeth S. '22 had nine service points--two of them aces--and had a great kill in the third set.

Foxcroft will have its first home match on Friday, 17 Sep, against Tandem Friends. Foxcroft parents are welcome to attend according to the school's Covid protocols.
