Foxcroft Shows Grit in Road Loss

The Foxcroft volleyball team came into the match against Highland with several players on the injury list, but the team put up a great fight against the Hawks. They came out swinging in the first set and led by 8-7, but they eventually fell 14-25. Foxcroft started the second set well, but two long service streaks by Highland finalized the set at 8-25. In the third set, Foxcroft showed great resilience and played hard. They led by 19-12 at one point, but the Highland libero strung together eleven consecutive service points to put the match at 19-23. With the score 20-24 and match point, senior Amelia F. took to the service line and helped the team score two more points, but the team ultimately fell 23-25. 

Mimi W. '24 returned to play and had several well-placed sets in the match. Kat W. '23 had another great match at middle blocker, racking up multiple blocks and several kills. Cassie C. '22 was outstanding in serve receive. Eva C. '24 had a great afternoon from the service line, registering eleven service points, including an ace. 

Foxcroft will remain on the road for its next match on Tuesday, 14 Sep, at Quantico.
