Foxcroft Gains Valuable Experience in Season Opener

After a 2020 season of playing outside and on grass, tonight the Foxcroft volleyball team returned to hardcourt in the season opener at St. James school. The team came out hot and took an early lead before ultimately dropping the first set 18-25. In the second set, Foxcroft fell behind 1-8 before rallying but falling short at 17-25. The team maintained incredible enthusiasm in the third set, but lost 16-25.

Several players showed great promise for the season. New junior Kat W. was a defensive wall at middle blocker and recorded several blocks. Ashleigh H. '23 played setter/right side for most of the match, and she showed great athleticism and court presence. Seniors Adair S. and Elizabeth S. led the team well in their first match as captains.

Foxcroft will play its next match on 10 Sep at Highland School in Warrenton, Virginia.
