Foxcroft Welcomes Whittney Preston as Dean of Inclusive Excellence

Foxcroft is pleased to announce that Ms. Whittney Preston will join us as our inaugural Dean of Inclusive Excellence. Ms. Preston is on campus today and tomorrow, taking advantage of the beautiful spring weather to meet with faculty and students as well as to learn more about Foxcroft.
Ms. Preston has spent the past nine years at Heritage Hall School in Oklahoma City, OK, where she has held a number of teaching and leadership roles. She currently serves as Associate Director of Diversity and Inclusion and is proud of her work to make Heritage Hall the first “No Place for Hate School” in the state of Oklahoma. This designation is sponsored by the Anti-Defamation League. She also leads the largest and most varied subject-area team of teachers in the Lower School (The Specials Teachers: Language, Music, Art, Dance, Theater, Physical Education, etc.) and has taught Spanish in Upper, Middle, and Lower School. Ms. Preston earned an undergraduate degree in Spanish from the University of Oklahoma, an MA in Educational Leadership from Southern Nazarene University, and is currently working towards her Ed.D. She and her Maltipoo Milo are looking forward to starting their Foxcroft experience together in July.

The Dean of Inclusive Excellence is a member of the administrative team. Consistent with Foxcroft’s commitment to “encourage all members [of the community] to pursue knowledge, recognize their personal biases, view a topic from multiple perspectives, and demonstrate respect for diverse viewpoints,” the Dean of Inclusive Excellence carries primary responsibility for supporting faculty as they work with students and in refining Foxcroft’s curriculum, pedagogy, and assessment through the lens of equity and inclusion.
