Chelsy Coil ’08 To Be Inducted as 12th Member of Foxcroft’s Sports Hall of Fame

Founded in 2014 as part of our Centennial Celebration, the Foxcroft Sports Hall of Fame now welcomes Chelsy Coil Class of 2008 as its 12th member. Nominations for this prestigious award can come from anyone who has an affiliation with Foxcroft, including alumnae, school employees, family, and friends.
The athlete must have graduated from Foxcroft at least 10 years ago, been a varsity competitor, and must have distinguished herself by her outstanding athletic achievement. This also can include the athlete's college career or other outstanding achievements beyond the grounds of Foxcroft. Above all, Hall of Fame candidates must serve as examples of outstanding character, courage, and leadership, which Foxcroft seeks to develop in its athletic program.

Chelsy was a standout field hockey player and is the only athlete in Foxcroft history to be named Washington Post Loudoun County Player of the Year not once but TWICE. She is also the only Foxcroft athlete ever to achieve first-team Washington Post all-Met, an honor she achieved in her senior year during the fall of 2007. She was a second-team all-Met in 2006 and was twice a Virginia Independent School Athletic Association all-state selection.

In addition to her many Field Hockey accolades, her senior year she also co-captained the basketball team, leading the team in scoring and rebounding.

Chelsy went on to play college field hockey at Big Ten Conference powerhouse Michigan State University where she played all four years on varsity and won the team’s Spirit Award three times. Following her collegiate career, Chelsy worked for 16 months as an assistant coach for a program within USA Field Hockey.

Congratulations Chelsy!
