Student Presentation and Activities Celebrate the Life and Message of Martin Luther King, Jr.

By Marlow B. ’22, Black Student Union Club Assistant-Head

In celebration of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Black Student Union collaborated with We the People to organize an engaging presentation and activities throughout the week.

During Morning Meeting on Monday, our two clubs showed a presentation to the community that highlighted the impact, strategies, message, and dreams of Dr. King during his historic movement. Afterward, alumna Kassinda Usher ’93 shared the dreams of some of her fellow alumnae for Foxcroft.

The community was then asked to take some time to reflect and think about the dreams they have for Foxcroft’s future, which led to the activity of the week. Students, faculty, and staff are invited to create pieces of art through different mediums such as paintings, drawings, videos, and more to represent the dreams that they have for Foxcroft. I can’t wait to see how they turn out and for more activities to come during Black History Month.
