Foxcroft to Welcome Two Virtual Speakers in September

The entire Foxcroft community is invited to attend two keynote presentations — Dr. Marcia Chatelain on September 2 and Deborah Lee James on September 11 — as part of our Alison Harrison Goodyear ’29 Fellowship Program. The sessions will be conducted via Zoom and we will share details of how to join these through invitations soon.
Wednesday, September 2
11am
Dr. Marcia Chatelain will use the theme of “Use Your Voice for Good: Civic Engagement and Social Action” to engage with the Foxcroft community via keynote, student workshops, and faculty workshops.

Through a series of cohesive lectures and workshops, Dr. Chatelain will facilitate conversations among the Foxcroft School community, with attention to the key themes of the school’s year – speaking up, engaging on behalf of the greater good, and taking action for social issues. Each session will draw upon Dr. Chatelain’s specialties in the history of civil rights, inclusive pedagogy, and public service to speak to the specific events and concerns that have emerged at Foxcroft in light of an especially challenging climate for students.

Friday, September 11 – Student Leadership Day
11am
Deborah Lee James, 23rd Secretary of the Air Force will keynote at our school-wide Leadership Day, Friday, September 11. She will speak around the themes of career path, civic duty and service, and empowering women.

The Alison Harrison Goodyear ’29 Fellowship program, offered through the generosity of the family and friends of Alison Harrison Goodyear, Foxcroft Class of 1929, brings distinguished speakers and provocative performers to Foxcroft to deliver a keynote address and conduct small group seminars with students.
