Leah N. ’22 Receives Service Award from Girl Scouts Nation's Capital

Leah N. ’22 recently received the Girl Scouts Nation's Capital Silver Trefoil Award for completing more than 220 hours of service!
Unique to Girl Scouts Nation’s Capital, the Silver Trefoil Award award originated in the 1970s as the Little Flower Award in memory of Senior Girl Scout Linda Curtis. Today, the award honors Girl Scout Seniors and Ambassadors who make the world a better place through service in three categories: Girl Scout Community, National, and Global.

Girl Scout Community Hours — Minimum of 50 hours
The Girl Scout Law asks members to be a sister to every Girl Scout. To earn the Silver Trefoil Award, she must embody the Girl Scout law.

National Service Hours — Minimum of 25 hours
Service to country and community is part of the Girl Scout tradition. These hours must include government service, local service, and green service hours.

Global Service Hours — Minimum of 25 Hours
Global Service hours include service to international communities and multicultural service.

Up to 50 hours can be earned in middle school and the rest have to be earned in high school.

The Foxcroft community commends Leah for being an embodiment of the School’s service values!
