Fall Sports Update

Foxcroft’s campus will be bustling with sports activity Thursday (today!) as the varsity field hockey, cross country, volleyball, and tennis teams are in action at home.
The field hockey team, undefeated and unscored upon in three games, takes on former Independent Schools League (ISL) foe Madeira on the turf field at 4:15pm; the volleyball team (2-2) hosts Delaney Athletic Conference (DAC) opponent Fresta Valley at 5:30pm in Engelhard Gym; and the unbeaten tennis team (3-0), fresh off an impressive 7-2 victory over DAC rival Seton, meets Middleburg Academy at 4:15pm.

Cross Country will run its meet against Middleburg Academy, which was postponed from yesterday due to weather, at 4:30pm.

The JV volleyball and tennis teams also will play at home Thursday. JV Volleyball will play Fresta Valley at 4pm and JV Tennis will host Jefferson Junior High school at 4:15pm.

Varsity Field Hockey has been very impressive so far this season, having allowed only one shot on goal in three games. The offense has been led by senior Allie M., who has eight goals and was named Athlete of the Week on Monday.

Varsity Volleyball won its first two matches at home against Quantico and Mercersburg Academy but has dropped its last two on the road against Tandem Friends and St. James (MD). The team is very young with four sophomores and a freshman seeing lots of playing time.

The Varsity Tennis team is paced by No. 1 singles Gigi G. ’22 and new girl Carleigh L. ’22 at No. 2 singles.
