Winners of Science Photography Contest Capture Stunning Shots

Throughout the school year, we see many great examples of cross-disciplinary work on display in the halls of Schoolhouse. Earlier this week, Julie Fisher of the Fine Arts Department and Meghen Tuttle of the Science Department highlighted the beautiful results of collaboration between two academic areas — fine arts and science — when they announced the winners of this year’s Science Photography Contest.
The second annual Science Photography Contest invited Foxcroft photographers, including students, faculty, and staff to showcase their talents. This year, an eighth category was added: Humans and Nature. All of the submissions were on display during the Festival of Arts on April 27. Everyone in the community had the opportunity to vote for their favorites. After tallying all the ballots, Mrs. Fisher and Dr. Tuttle announced the winners at Morning Meeting Monday.

  • Alex Northrup, Director of Educational Technology and History Department Chair — "Landlubbers"
  • Ellie Meyer ’11, faculty — "Microscopic Views"
  • Victoria V. ’20 — "Aerial Perspectives"
  • Bianca M. ’21 — "Landscapes and Waterscapes"
  • Isabel W. ’20 — "Humans and Nature"
The winners will have their work on display in a yearlong exhibit in the Science Wing of Schoolhouse. If you have not had a chance to see their stunning photographs in person, stop by the next time you are on campus!
