Inspired Learning this Summer

This week, Head of School Cathy McGehee announced our third summer of Inspired Learning Summer Grants which are available to rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors. Last summer, four students received grant funds to pursue projects and begin solving problems; you can read about their projects here.

Does your daughter have a product she wants to invent or create? Is there a problem in the community she would like to address? Or is she passionate about an academic topic and wants to research it in depth? If so, she can apply for up to $1,500 to fund her summer learning, plus up to $1,000 for additional expenses — all thanks to the generosity of an anonymous donor.
If your daughter's project is selected, she will work with a faculty member who will advise her and with an alumna, parent, or professional mentor, assigned by Foxcroft. Your daughter will be expected to keep a log of work and to communicate at least every two weeks with her advisor and mentor. Students will present their projects during the fall at an assembly/project fair.

More information on the Inspired Learning Summer Grant, including the full description and the application, is available online via “Academic Resources” on the myFoxcroft Resource Board. Students should express their interest to Head of School Cathy McGehee or Academic Dean Courtney Ulmer. Applications are due by Monday, May 13.
