Model UN

A Report by Elsie R. ’21

This weekend, the Model UN Club had the great opportunity to attend Thomas Jefferson High School's Model United Nations conference. At this conference, our group of girls put their knowledge about our different countries to the test!
We negotiated, debated, and solved international problems with other high school students. “It was interesting to be able to compare the American University Model United Nations experience to this one,” said Grace S. ’21. “I find that the more conferences we go to, the better we become at forming blocks to write papers, and I find it easier to make friends.” Rose U. ’21 commented, “Everyone was very nice and polite.”

Although we did not come back bearing awards, it was a really rewarding and interesting experience, and I'm glad I went. I cannot wait for our next conference later this month.
