Foxcroft Defeats Ranked Team

Foxcroft gave new meaning to the term "boarding" school.

Foxcroft's girls dominated the backboards with 44  rebounds and defeated Christ Chapel, the No. 6 ranked team in VISAA Division 3, by a lopsided 34-17 score in a game played in Leipheimer gym.

Freshman Elizabeth S. grabbed a team season-high 13 rebounds -- her third game this season in which she has rebounded in double figures -- and scored eight points to lead the rout. Senior Loren S. sparked the defense with nine steals as Foxcroft won for the third time this year in eight games.

Christ Chapel entered the game with a 9-4 record but Foxcroft dominated from the start and led, 19-2, at the half. Christ Chapel never challenged from that point.

Five Foxcroft players had five or more rebounds with senior Ify N. collecting eight and freshman Adair S. adding seven. Junior Allie M. had six rebounds and senior Leah S., had five.

Foxcroft had a balanced scoring attack with eight players notching at least three points.
