Project Green Build & Rebuild

During recent construction projects, students have had unique learning opportunities in two seminars: Project Green Build and Project Rebuild.

These one-of-a-kind, hands-on seminars focused on the entire project scope of the construction of Stuart Hall and the renovation of Court. Both seminars incporporated lectures taught by professionals from Hord Coplan Macht and Forrester Construction, hands-on demonstrations (and LEGO challenges!), and visits to the construction sites.

In the 2012-13 school year, Project Green Build gave students the opportunity to watch a building — Stuart Hall, a new dormitory — go from concept to concrete (and bricks, glass, and a variety of other materials!) The model for the seminars put real-world application on each lesson, driving home the material in an innovative way for our students.

Following the success of Project Green Build, Project Rebuild began in January 2015 and wrapped in April 2016. Students were engaged in the design, demoniltion, and renovation process that turned Court, previously a dormitory, into the School's welcome center.
