National History Academy

The National History Academy (www.HistoryCamp.com) created by The Journey Through Hallowed Ground National Heritage Area (www.hallowedground.org) the country’s preeminent history camp, is for high school students who want to explore American history and civics through the power of place, and to learn by being there.

One hundred highly motivated 10th, 11th and 12th grade students will be recruited with the assistance of the College Board.  Students will fully engage in discussions and debate using the Harvard Business School case method of teaching history, and learn from guest lectures by nationally recognized scholars and leading educators at historic sites and museums.

Vision: The National History Academy will be the preeminent American history and civics summer experience for high school students.

Mission: The mission of the National History Academy is to teach, engage and inspire our nation's future leaders through a placed-based experiential curriculum that fosters an understanding of the rights and duties of American citizenship.
